A Lunch Date...Brought Me Back Remembering The Days When I Couldn't Wait To Get Home After Sunday Church Service, Anticipating My Grandmother's Soul Food..The Aroma Of Fried Chicken & Pork Chops, Collard Greens, Baked Macaroni & Cheese, Golden Corn Bread. The Good Ole Days!! This Is The Feeling I Endured With The First Taste Of Collard Greens At Ken Cooks..It Touched My Soul..Pork Cops Fried To Perfection, Greens, Seasoned Just Right, Macaroni On Point!! I Will Admit The Portions Are Generous For The Prices! I Hate Muffins, Biscuits, Etc. However; I Loved The Cornbread! It Had A Dash Of Sweet To It! Honey Or Sugar , Just Like My GrandMother Made It So As Children We Would Eat It. THE SORE PARTS: All Food Is Served In To Go Containers, In Which Could Be A Good Thing So You Have Packed Leftovers, No ICE, Or Glasses, Drinks Are From The Cooler, And No Waitress, You Get Up And Get Your Own Orders From The Counter. However; The Restaurant Is Super Cozy & Clean. I Wouldve Like To Hear Some Old School Music, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin Or Teddy Pendergrass Floating In The Air..However; Shout Out To All My Under 30's & 40's Generation!! , Who Want To Treat Thier Over 50's Aunties, Uncles, Grandmother's/ Grandfather's. Out To Eat Craving For Soul Food Like Our Grandparents Threw Down & Put Thier Foot In It & The Toe!! I Highly SUGGEST KEN..SHE CAN COOK!!"

"Excellent service. I felt like I was at my grandmom’s. You can feel the comfort vibe as soon as you are greeted walking through the door. I ordered the fried salmon trio and enjoy every bite. If you are looking for some good food in Charlotte, this is where you can get a good taste of the city."

"First visit…definitely won’t be the last. This place is all that you’ve heard it to be…the food every last bite was delicious. I had the trio plate white was Whitting fish with chicken okra rice and potatoe salad. The lemonade is good buy a water to dilute it was a little sweet. The owner was there cooking and she would come out and say thanks for stopping by…..and she ask us to be patient because the line was getting long. This definitely is the spot for great soul food."

"Exceptional First Experience — A Must-Stop Every Time My boyfriend and I visited Ken’s Cooks for the very first time back December 14, we were traveling from an we were traveling from a football tournament in Florida and stopped in North Carolina on our way back to New Jersey and from the moment we walked through the door, the experience was absolutely amazing. We were warmly greeted right away, and the customer service remained excellent throughout our entire visit. Our order was taken smoothly, and the staff made sure to check in with us to confirm everything was correct and that we were enjoying our meal. That attention to detail truly made us feel valued. The food was absolutely out of this world—seasoned to perfection and full of flavor. Every bite was incredible. You can tell real care and pride goes into the food here. This will definitely be one of those places that anytime we are traveling through or in the area, we will make it a point to stop. Thank you, Ken’s Cooks, for such a wonderful first experience. "If you're looking for some soul food, good customer service, friendly and calm atmosphere then check out Ken Cooks. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food that you receive. Ms Ken was there working and greeting everyone and I do mean everyone. She and her staff were so welcoming, they really showed me and my family who was visiting from up north what southern hospitality was all about. The food was amazing between the three of we tried several items and they were all good!"

"I was treated to Ken Cooks & it was my first time eating at her establishment. In my opinion, when you first walk in you get a warm, friendly greeting. The host was a gentleman. Always a plus for me. The inside was a whole vibe. I like the decor. The tables were spaced out. You can't help but talk to people. Everyone, was speaking very highly of Ken food. It was giving cozy. Now the food- I had the broccoli & cheese, Collard greens, Mac & cheese and Green Beans. The Mac was just ok. Overall, a 9 out of 10. Bonus: there was a wait but it was worth it. The food was fresh and hot. I would definitely go back. Ken was working hard in the back. I did like that she politely says the name that's up next. If you haven't been, definitely support ... 430 old little rock rd. She definitely get busy fast. Thanks Ken Cooks for the great hospitality."

"Absolutely amazing food! The meat is incredibly tender and literally melts in your mouth. The sauce is rich, flavorful, and perfectly soaked into the rice. The portion size is very generous, everything tastes fresh, and you can tell it’s cooked with care. The fries are crispy, not greasy, and a perfect side. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. 10/10 — highly recommend and will definitely be back!"

"After Hearing Mix Reviews I decided to stop by and check this place out for myself, The Food Amazing and closest thing in Charlotte to my mom’s cooking. I got the trio Stew Beef Wings Mac and Cheese and Yams. Food was so good I order two more plates to go. The Owner is very sweet and gave me auntie vibes, she interacts and speaks to her customers. The plates are very reasonable and the potions are worth it. I will def be back for sure"
